7 Photo Editing Apps to Try!

Here are some free apps to make your images picture perfect, with features such as filters, layout, effects, typography, etc. Enjoy 1. Typorama Typorama is an easy to use app that allows you to add chic, modern typography to your images. First step for making your creation is to choose an image by searching sample images or using your own. You can then crop the image for the ideal fit for whatever social media platform or otherwise you may be working on. And last, you get to add your typography. This app gives you plenty of free, beautiful designs to choose from. And as you may have guessed, you can fork up a couple dollars to remove the watermark and add additional features. 2. LiveCollage There are a variety of free apps you can use to make collages, but this one has become a tried and true for me. Disneyland and DCA Halloween Re-Cap (Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Halloween Treats, World of Color)

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is held on select nights at Disneyland and is a great event to attend, especially if you have kids (though adults will enjoy it too). It does book early though so you do want to plan ahead. During the event, all rides are open and lines tend to be shorter. As it gets to be time for the party, only party guests (those with the wrist bands they give at check-in) can go on the rides. You also have picture opportunities with the Disney characters in their Halloween costumes and characters like Jack and Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas. The Cadaver Dans sing on the Rivers of America and are not hard to spot, so check them out as you head through Frontierland and New Orleans Square. And of course, there are the trick or treat trails, where you trick or treat at different spots throughout the park. They do give you a small candy bag at check-in, but you can also use your own. The trick or t...

Top Ten Horror Movies

Some of my personal favorites, enjoy 1. 1408 You know...the one by Stephen King about a haunted hotel. No, I'm not talking about The Shining. 1408 is based on a short story by Stephen King. The main premise is there is a man who writes novels about the most haunted places he visits, but he does not believe in the supernatural. When he finally stays in a hotel room that is a bit, well, off, he struggles to maintain his sanity. I really like this movie because of the story line and also the way it creates fear. If you like to be scared but do not like gore, this one is for you. 2. The Skeleton Key This came on randomly when I was on the ScFi channel and I have watched it multiple times since. The Skeleton Key takes place in New Orleans. When a young nurse cares for a patient in an old house, she realizes something is wrong with the place. Her search for answers has her learning about voodoo, ghosts, and magic. This movie has a good storyline and is another great horr...

The Etsy Guide: Packaging Crafts

When you are selling handmade goods online, you are selling the packaging also. The beauty of a well-designed package with a unique product. The promise that the product will arrive across the globe safely. My very first experience learning the importance of how I wrap my stuff came in the form of my first vendor gig. I was selling at a local boutique and noticed something peculiar. There were quite a few children at this event, and seeing that I had miniatures there were several children asking their parents if they can have something. At the time, I was first starting out and my prices were very low, with some pieces even being around 10 cents a pop, but nevertheless a lot of parents said no. At the same time though, I had quite a few adults buying my pre packaged sets. To set the scene, I was selling both prepackaged gift bags/boxes, and then I had separate pieces at a cheaper rate. Same quality, different cover. Almost all packaged sets sold, and only a couple individuals s...

Steampunk Polymer Clay Starter Guide

After making several new listings for the Etsy shop, I decided to take some pictures and provide a bit of a starter guide for how I make the Steampunk items. So without further adieu, let's get started. 1. So what is Steampunk, in a nutshell? Before we can think about steampunk jewelry, we need to start by knowing what the basic idea of steampunk is. Steampunk is basically the answer to "what would the world look like if we hadn't discovered electricity/ modern technology, if we depended on steam power?". The aesthetic is a combination of 19th century technology, British Victorian fashion, and post-apocalypse, and it looks very cool and unique. Steampunk has become a popular genre of alternative fashion. 2. Metallic pigments are a must So why not simply use silver and gold clay to make your pieces? They aren't convincing enough, they don't have enough color variation and dimension. That's not to say I never use gold and silver clays in steampunk w...
